This safari takes you on an exclusive ride through the Minneriya National Park which is highly famed for its elephants and wildlife. The three-tour options allow you to select whether you wish to watch wildlife during their morning activities, evening activities or even throughout the day. You also get a complimentary pickup and drop-off if you’re staying within a 5km limit of the entrance.

You will be starting your tour from Sigiriya at 02:00 pm. Your safari jeep will be picking you up from your hotel and driving you to Minneriya National Park.

The park has many land types and growth. Wetlands mix in with agricultural land and rocky outcrops, and forests walk hand in hand with scrublands. This also means that the types of wildlife and birds that live in the park or visit it are quite varied.

You may get to see a crocodile or even an extremely rare grey slender loris if you’re lucky. A little herd of deer may visit the Minneriya reservoir as you watch early in the morning. If you plan your safari to the months of August, September or October you might get a chance to see the elephant congregation named the ‘Elephant Gathering’ with its collective number of over 150 elephants in one place. It’s said that the elephants arrive from all surrounding areas for this gathering annually.

If you opt for the evening safari, which is the best time to see this park, you can also see the elephants taking their daily bath and watch the many different kinds of birds heading off to their nests at the end of the day.

After you complete your half-day watching nature in action, you will be drop-off back at your hotel.

This safari takes you on an exclusive 3-hour tour of Kaudulla National Park. Get an opportunity to see the high biodiversity of Sri Lanka in the form of its rare and endemic wildlife and avian species. You get the option of going on a morning safari or an evening safari.

You will be starting your tour from Sigiriya at 02:00 pm. Your safari jeep will be picking you up from your hotel and driving you to Kaudulla National Park.

Kaudulla National Park is based around an irrigation tank built by a king of times long past. Now it is surrounded by dry evergreen forests and is home many species of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. Kaudulla was identified as an Important Bird and Biodiversity area (IBA) by Birdlife International recently.

Upon visiting, you have a chance to catch sight of the rare grey slender loris, sloth bear or chevrotain. These along with the Sri Lankan sambar deer, Sri Lankan axis deer, and wild boar are among the 24 species of mammals found here. Kaudulla is also believed to be the only national park in Sri Lanka that has albino axis deer, though the only evidence found so far is an orphaned deer calf found in the park.

The Sri Lankan elephant movement is a regular annual sight in Kaudulla. They move to Minneriya in the dryer months in search of more water and food. However they move back from Minneriya to Kaudulla around September which has water even among the driest months. They are best seen during the evenings.

You can also see bird species such as the spot-billed pelican or the lesser adjutant, which number among the 160 or so species that visit Kaudulla or call it home. There are also quite a few species of reptiles including the Indian Black Turtle and the Indian Flap-shelled Turtle, or fish such as the Mozambique Tilapia that you might get to see.

After you complete your half-day watching nature in action, you will be drop-off back at your hotel.
